Decoration Processes - Decalcomania (Decal) Application Process

Decal Patterns printed on paper, are moistened and carefully applied to the surface of a piece. The finished decal ware is then sent for a third firing called Decal Firing. Here the patterned paper is burnt and the pattern with the overglaze colours is then transferred to the surface of the piece. Depending on the type of decoration decal firing temperatures can range from 750oc to 1300oc.
